I really liked the entire Camp Joy experience. One of my favorite parts was when we learned a lot about the Underground Railroad. We had learned about it in school before, but here, the Underground Railroad program gave me a real feel and a real experience that I didn’t get learning in the classroom. It showed us why discrimination is bad and how you should treat people the way you want to be treated because I saw how people used to be treated in the Underground Railroad program. The actors were using harsh words, and it felt awful, but we learned that this was just a scratch on the surface. I really was able to feel a lot of empathy for the slaves through what I learned here.
