Job Title:  Finance Manager
Reports to:  Business Operations Director
Department:  Business Operations
Overall Function:   Oversees the day-to-day management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and general ledger processing for two sets of books (LLC and Foundation) to ensure monthly financial reports are accurate and timely. Assist team members as needed with other finance-related needs.

Summary of Responsibilities

  1. Accounts Payable – Ensure that all received receipts and invoices are coded and noted correctly and entered promptly into QuickBooks Online. All received expenses for the prior month should be accounted for and entered by the 5th business day of the month.
  2. Accounts ReceivableEnsure that all received client invoices and deposits are accurately processed, billed and recorded into QuickBooks Online and submitted to the clients and appropriate staff by the 5th business day of the month.
  3. General LedgerManage general ledger entries and provide updates to the Business Operations Director for timely monthly financial statement review. Review General Ledger Accounts monthly to ensure memos and expenses are accurately expensed and noted providing clear understanding of those monthly expenses.
  4. PayrollCalculate and transmit bi-weekly payroll through company payroll system. Maintain all employee related tax information, deductions, benefit premiums and any related payroll reports.
  5. ReconciliationsBalance and reconcile all bank and credit card statements, petty cash accounts and investment accounts monthly and maintain supporting documentation as appropriate. Reconcile with other administrative and philanthropy staff as needed for a check and balance for certain revenue and expenses where requested. Maintain accurate schedules for all pledge, receivables and grant expense accounts.
  6. Compliance and ReportingAssist with maintaining compliance in regards to finance functions. Manage the annual financial audit, provide monthly and quarterly financial reports, and provide necessary financial reports for other departments and funders.
  7. Fixed Asset Management – Maintain and balance fixed asset summaries, including depreciation and accumulated depreciation accounts for the organization.
  8. Finance and Operations Support – Serve as administrative and back up support to Business Operations Team for finance and office administrative responsibilities. Assist with budgeting and other finance related and financial analysis projects, including annual continuous improvement initiatives and entering the approved annual budget into QB journals.
  9. Culture – Instill and model a culture of client focus, collaboration, discipline, continuous improvement and accountability consistent with Camp Joy’s mission and values.

Position Details and Compensation

This is a full-time exempt position with a hybrid office arrangement. Work may be performed in a remote office setting 3 to 4 days per week, with attendance in the office at Camp Joy required 1 to 2 days per week. The starting salary range is $70,000 to $75,000 per year.   • Applicant must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and maintain exacting accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Applicant must be able to work in an office environment located in an outdoor setting.

Qualifications

  • College degree, professional certification or 3-5 years of experience in a related accounting field with preferred non-profit experience
  • Applicant must have prior experience working with automated payroll processing systems, computerized general ledger, accounting systems and fixed asset management systems. QuickBooks Desktop or Online mastery required.
  • Applicant must be organized, service oriented, have excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a computerized office environment with a team orientation and multi-functional responsibilities. Strong computer competency with experience in Microsoft software applications.
