Job Title: Development Coordinator (Part Time)

Reports to: Camp Joy Philanthropy Director

Department: Philanthropy

Overall Function: Provide key support by organizing, coordinating and implementing a variety of Camp Joy’s development activities across all fundraising and relationship-building initiatives with a strong focus on donor relationships, database administration, communications, and event coordination.

Summary of Responsibilities

  1. Fundraising – Provide key support to the Philanthropy Team to raise funds for Camp Joy through individual and grant solicitation, campaigns, and additional funding initiatives. 
  2. Database Administration – Key responsibility will be to manage the donor database and oversees day-to-day processes such as data entry (gift processing & constituent record keeping) and thank you letters using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software. Collaborate with finance team on gift reconciliation processes. Leads processes to analyze data, fundraising progress, prospecting opportunities, and reporting results. Consistently ensure database is cleaned up and records are up to date. 
  3. External Communications – Assist in creation of Camp Joy/Philanthropy communications (annual report, newsletters, press releases, and news articles). Assist in collaboration with Camp Joy team to coordinate communications initiatives including social media, e-blasts, public relations, and website as needed. Create and maintain mailing lists for specific donor segments to ensure the right messages are communicated efficiently to the correct donors. 
  4. Donor Events, Meetings, Volunteer Groups – Provide key support of coordination of key events such as Dance for Joy or Sips of Joy. Work closely with team to ensure a world-class donor/constituent experience. 
  5. Mission Material / Outcomes – Oversee the collection and organization of mission material and outcomes data. Coordinate the gathering of stories, photos/videos, support letters, and testimonies from current and past Camp Joy participants, clients, and donors to communicate about the Camp Joy mission and impact. 
  6. Culture – Model a culture of client focus, collaboration, discipline, continuous improvement and accountability focused on Camp Joy’s mission and values. 

Requirements

  • Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule. 
  • Applicant must be able to carry supplies, etc. of at least 10 lbs., be able to work in an office environment at an outdoor-based non-profit organization. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role or fundraising role preferred. 
  • Must be organized, service-oriented, have excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and great attention to detail. 
  • Experience working in a computerized office environment with a team orientation and multifunctional responsibilities. Must have experience with Microsoft Office. Fundraising, CRM, and website software experience preferred. (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software) 
  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under Camp Joy’s policy.

Camp Joy is currently hiring a Part-Time Bookkeeper

Job Title: Bookkeeper

Reports to: Business Operations Director

Department: Business Operations

Overall Function: Day-to-day management of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger processing for two sets of books (LLC and Foundation) to ensure monthly financial reports are accurate and timely. Assist team members as needed with other financial related needs and organizational continuous improvement initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities

  1. Accounts Payable – Ensure that all received receipts and invoices are coded and noted correctly and entered into the accounting software timely and checks are cut weekly to vendors, avoiding finance related charges. All received expenses for the prior month should be accounted for and entered by the 5th business day of the month.
  2. Accounts Receivable – Ensure that all received client invoices and deposits are accurately processed, billed and recorded into the accounting software and submitted to the clients and appropriate staff by the 5th business day of the month.
  3. General Ledger – Manage general ledger entries (income statement related), and provide updates to the business operations director for timely monthly financial statements. Review General Ledger Accounts monthly to ensure memos and expenses are accurate expensed and noted providing clear understanding of those months’ expenses. Monthly program allocations
  4. Finance and Operations Support – Serve as administrative and back up support to Business Operations Team for finance and office administrative responsibilities.
  5. Culture – Instill and model a culture of client focus, collaboration, discipline, continuous improvement and accountability focused on Joy’s mission and values.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Applicant must be able to work in an office environment located in an outdoor setting.

Qualifications

  • College degree, professional certification or 3-5 years of experience in a related accounting field.
  • Applicant must be organized, service oriented, have excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a computerized office environment with a team orientation and multi-functional responsibilities. Strong computer competency with experience in QuickBooks and Microsoft software applications.
  • Applicant must have prior experience working with automated payroll processing systems, computerized general ledger, accounting systems and fixed asset management systems. QuickBooks experience a plus.
